Volunteer Application Information

We are extremely pleased that you are interested in volunteering to assist our Sylvan Union School District students and staff. Your time, energy and commitment are greatly appreciated!

 

Before continuing to the below application, you must complete the parent volunteer training course. The training is a consistent, district wide training. You may attend training at any school site, to receive credit for the training, even if your child does not attend the school hosting training. To find available times, please click the link below:

Parent Volunteer Training Schedule

Thank you for completing the parent volunteer training course. To complete the online application, you will need the below items available to upload. **Note** It is very important that the information you enter on the application matches your government issued identification card including your full legal name. 
 
 Level 2:
  • Valid email address (Can not be your student's SUSD email address)
  • Current proof of tuberculosis (TB) clearance
  • A current copy of your driver's license 
  • Completed Certificate of Training Completion and Volunteer Agreement (Provided by the school site)
 

 

 Level 3:
  • Valid email address (Can not be your student's SUSD email address)
  • Current proof of tuberculosis (TB) clearance
  • A current copy of your driver's license 
  • Completed Certificate of Training Completion and Volunteer Agreement (Provided by the school site)
  • Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
  • SUSD Fingerprinting (Item completed once online application is submitted)

Level 2 Volunteers 

This volunteer level is for volunteers who would like to help in the classroom, have student interaction, and/or volunteers who work at the school site on a regular basis.

Please have your documents ready (listed above) and proceed to the below application link:

Level 3 Volunteers

This volunteer level can participate in all activities listed above, as well as, attending field trips. 

Please log into the CA Mandated training website before moving to Step 1 of the application process. Once on the Mandated Reporter Homepage, scroll down to "General Training" (2-hour Course) and click the "Learn More" button. Proceed to the "Start Training" link. 

At the conclusion of the General Training, you will take an exam. Once the exam is complete, please take a picture or screenshot of the page that shows your name, date and confirmation of completion of the course. There is no need to pay for the certificate. A picture or screenshot is sufficient.

Mandated Reporter Training

Please have your documents ready (listed above for Level 3 Volunteers) as well as the Mandated Reporter Training Certificate and proceed to the below application link:

**Please Note**
Please complete all parts of the application and submit. If completing the Level 3 Application, the site office manager will reach out regarding the fingerprinting process once the application has been approved.
 
All information collected on the application will remain confidential and not be shared outside the volunteer program.
 

REQUIRED:  All visitors and volunteers will sign in through our Raptor system using their driver's license. If a family member doesn't not have a driver's license they may use another form of government identification such as a passport, Tribal Identification Card, Us Military Identification, etc.
